Why is brunch such an institution?

The word brunch, a blend of “breakfast” and “lunch,” originated in 19th-century British aristocracy. Conceived as a hybrid meal to accommodate late risers after glamorous soirées, it combines indulgence with conviviality. The concept crossed the Atlantic in the late 19th century with British expatriates and was quickly embraced in the United States. Brunch soon became embedded in American food culture before evolving into a beloved Sunday ritual around the world.

Brunching in Paris? A true art form

Brunch has become a Sunday ritual for both Parisians and travelers alike. The perfect harmony between relaxation and indulgence, between breakfast and lunch, makes it an ideal moment to unwind and enjoy a delicious meal. In this spirit, Hôtel des Grands Voyageurs offers a unique in-house brunch, blending French and American influences in a chic, retro setting.

On the sweet side, indulgent Snickers-style dessert, New York cheesecake, or an XXL cookie to share.
